Giles Best

Dr Giles Best is a postdoctoral research fellow and a senior lecturer (adjunct, University of Sydney) whose research interests focus on novel therapeutic strategies for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). For the past 8 years he has worked at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research, University of Sydney with Professor Stephen Mulligan during which time his work has included studies of inhibitors of Hsp-90, MEK1/2 and more recently PIM and PI3-kinase under in vitro conditions that mimic the tumour microenvironment. Prior to moving to Sydney, Giles spent 4 years as a postdoctoral scientist with Professor David Oscier in Bournemouth, UK where he was responsible for the development of novel assays for ZAP-70 and ATM/TP53 functional assessment in CLL cells.
